OK, time for truth in posting... at least a little. Was that regional jet a CRJ? And if it was, you must really be kidding about that "plush seat" comparison. I've flown the A330 once on the return from CDG... and it sure is better than a CRJ. Watched movies the whole time and forgot that I can't sleep on these flights. It isn't a pleasure palace and I didn't have the pod in front of me, but both the Ms. and I agreed that it was better than the DC-10 that had taken us over in the first place.

I just returned from DTW/CDG and found the A330 the very worst plane I've ever had the misfortune to be on. The coach seats were about as plush as a wooden folding chair, there was not enough space under the seat in front of me for even my purse and even I, at 5'2 and 110 pounds, had no leg room. It was absolutely miserable. I'm a former travel agent and airline employee so I have traveled a lot but never NW coach internationally. And never again. To add to the misery, I was shocked to find DTW's international arrival area was such an incredible hassle. Just went through MIA internationally and it was a breeze compared to DTW. It was a relief to sink into the plush seat on our regional jet!
