A330 vs. regional jet?

OK, time for truth in posting... at least a little. Was that regional jet a CRJ? And if it was, you must really be kidding about that "plush seat" comparison. I've flown the A330 once on the return from CDG... and it sure is better than a CRJ. Watched movies the whole time and forgot that I can't sleep on these flights. It isn't a pleasure palace and I didn't have the pod in front of me, but both the Ms. and I agreed that it was better than the DC-10 that had taken us over in the first place.

It was absolutely miserable. I'm a former travel agent and airline employee so I have traveled a lot but never NW coach internationally. And never again. To add to the misery, I was shocked to find DTW's international arrival area was such an incredible hassle. Just went through MIA internationally and it was a breeze compared to DTW. It was a relief to sink into the plush seat on our regional jet!
