There are a bunch of Hampton inns, Hilton Garden Inns, and Homewood Suites in the Albany area, about half-way to Montreal. There's a Hilton Garden Inn in Saratoga Springs, that would be a fun place to visit unless it's race season. Forget it if it is, you won't be able to get a reservation. North of Albany there's nothing on a direct route to Montreal through New York on the west side of Lake Champlain unless you take a detour to Lake Placed, where there's a Hilton. Lake Placid would be a wonderful side trip if you have the time, right in the middle of the Adirondack Mountains. If you go up the east side of Lake Chaplain, there are some Hilton properties in the Burlington, Vermont area. Have fun!
