I, too, was pleased when Westin rolled out their slick and thoughtful pet program; however, I am sure that program has caused a substantial number of incidents that the hotels were not used to. (The example of the family at the Seattle property above would certainly count as one.) As a GM of a well run hotel, one simply can't ignore the likelihood that some owners (and some dogs) simply won't act as responsibly as the majority of owners. As such, they have no options but to begin to instate additional regulations and limitations.
Of course, I agree with you
But I'm quite sure there's a bigger chance of a loud party/ loud guests waking you up at a hotel than a dog..
