A combination of 1) having a single FA who can behave unobserved of e.g. colleagues, making a FA in a bad mood go unchecked 2) long, boring days with repettetive take-offs, announcements and preparations, 3) strickter FAA rules of assuring compliance of paxes being the only FA in the cabin? (I am purely guessing here)

Having said that, I just got off a SLC-BOI CRJ with a very tired (she told us this during take-off), but very nice FA. As with DL in general, I find the vast majority of their FA's to be nice and personable - but the Connection carrier do seem to have younger, and sometimes not as mature FA's.
