German 'spargel' is most excellent!

One of my favorite memories involving asparagus involves the cream of asparagus soup that was served at my friends' wedding reception in Potsdam, Germany. That soup was served as a post-dinner snack at 1:00 am!!! Man, that was a fun wedding!
