On day flights it's different. On UA929 LHR-ORD they serve breakfast (pancakes, omelet etc). I suspect the day flight IAD-LHR would have the same menu because it leaves so early and the first meal should be breakfast...

And on the morning westbound flights in C the hot breakfast is followed by a scaled down dinner later in the flight. I think no appetizer and only two entree choices.
