Question regarding seat assignments on AF flights codeshared DL
Good Morning all,
I have a question that maybe someone on the board has had some past experience with, and can steer me in the right direction:
I am going to be flying through CDG from the US in about two weeks. The ticket was purchased through an online travel agent (Expedia). My ATL-CDG and CDG-ATL segments are both Delta flight numbers, but the flight is on an AF 747. My seats come through, and I've got 30C (Aisle, not in the middle row) both ways.
I called Delta to try to get better seats. My logic was that it is a Delta flight number, so they have some control. Their answer is 'Call AF, its their bird'. I call AF. They say 'Your ticket is through DL, call them'. So now I'm the ping-pong ball bouncing between telephone agents. Anyway, I've got conformation codes from both AF and DL. The Delta site allows me to access the seat map and choose seats. So, I find two that I want and select them. After hitting 'Submit', it just defaults me back to the old seat assignment I already had.
This may seem a little trivial, but we are FTers here and most of us are particular about our seats. 30C, while probably a perfectly good aisle seat, is not the one I'd like to have. Neither flights are very full, and one flight has an upper deck window seat that I'd like, and the return flight has 43L open, which is a nice looking seat with no seats anywhere near in front of it. Other than waiting until the day before flight and doing OLCI, is there anything else I can do, person to call who can change seats, etc? Also, if I do OLCI and it sticks me in that seat regardless of the one I select, am I stuck with it (barring of course arguing with a gate agent to change it)?
Thanks for any help.
