This is a complete joke on Hyatts part; I would contact the local regulating authority; file a BBB complaint; of course complain to Hyatt corporate, GP, and the local Hyatt Mgt and not give up till you get what you feel will make it right for you; and post it on numerous travel bulletin boards; CC Hyatt Corporate and the local Hyatt mgt on all your non Hyatt complaints just so that they know you are not joking.
you are correct if you didn't show up they would have screwed you over
Hyatt had the complete responsibility to notify you and to provide you alternate lodging
