Yet I was told today by a couple of FAs on a IAD-CDG flight that they had never seen a hot breakfast in 20 years of flying UA.
I've been doing weekly IAD-LHR runs for the past while and have been offered a hot breakfast every time on UA922 -- choices include the omelette, pancakes, and something else appeared once. The standard tray service also includes a bread roll thingy and a small dish of mixed fruit. Not bad really for Y. I haven't done the redeye out of IAD so perhaps that's the difference.
