The more local Hawaiian Budget hotels are pushing a lot of emails and promo's out lately trying to get clients. We are hearing from places that had never sent us information from before. But yes the higher end properties are doing a big push and some of their rates can become attractive if you meet their requirements. However we are dealing with Oceania and Asian clients not US mainlanders. We know they market differently between regions, but we rarely see what properties offer to mainlanders.
