I just bought an unlocked BlackBerry 8800 on eBay. I put my SIM card in it and got phone services with no problems. I then called T-Mobile, who doesn't carry the 8800, and asked them to activate the data services. They were very surprised to learn of my purchase, but complied and now it works fine.
