I am overreacting to this Hyatt Place fiasco?
I will try to make it short: My husband and I had a 2 night reservation at a new Hyatt Place. I made it online on the Hyatt place website. We show up at the hotel at midnight and the hotel is not yet open for bussiness. The night watch man says it will open in two weeks. I write to the Hyatt corporate office and no reply after three weeks so I e-mail Gold Passport. Hyatt consumer affairs replies and says that I will hear from the management at Hyatt place. Management at Hyatts Place e-mails and apologizes for "any inconvenience this may have caused us" and says that "Due to building code restrictions the hotels opening date was pushed back and your reservation was made before we were informed of the new opening date". There is no offer of any type of compensation. after e-mailing again I am offered 3,000 points for my husband's Gold Passport account with the caveat "If I don not hear back from you I will assume you do NOT want the points".
At the moment I feel like telling them that they can keep their points because I don't want to step into a Hyatt again! Am I overreacting?
