As an aside, I find it easier on both me and the FA to get up (assuming the seat belt sign is off, of course) and go to the galley and ask for a refill...that way, the FA only has to make one trip to your seat, not two, and you get your refill quicker. Everybody wins!
Now, to me, that is a big deal. I do not want to play into poor service by doing their job for them. I think we're talking about F and C cabins here (as Y is a whole other story), and if they aren't passing through often enough to be flagged down for a refill then it's time for a complaint, not to do it yourself.
