Depending on how much EQMs you'll fly on all airlines next year, I'd still recommend sticking with SkyTeam. Routing-wise, I'd just do MSP-NRT-ICN-SYD. Or even MSP-ORD-ICN-SYD. I don't know if that would fit within your constraints, though.
There is. But if you end up going with OneWorld, I'd recommend Qantas over AA for those segments. They also fly LAX-SYD, and SFO-SYD. I'd prefer SFO over LAX.
The April 2% Club newsletter didn't mention any specifics, but I wouldn't rule out easier connections down under via SkyTeam in the near future, ifyouknowwhatimean.
Think long and hard about which basket to put your eggs in.

I'd love to keep my eggs in the Skyteam basket...but using the corp. travel tool, all I'm getting is AA routes, so I can call and ask for the NRT-ICN-SYD route but if its not comparable on price, it makes no sense for the extra stops.
Im pretty new to looking for Skyteam flights in Asia - do you have to call the plat line to get ICN-SYD routings? The website says no flights found...
