What part of it is abnormal anyway? Is it that they cannot queue status calls coming in? Or is it that they promised me a mail date of March 26 and they are one week late?
Based on my dropoff date of March 12 2007, Passports Canada was already well aware of their backlog. This has been a disaster from the get-go.
If they are unable to commit to the mail date, they should not have put a mail date of March 26.
