On international flights, elite members got "PRIORITY HANDLING" tag on their bags even though they don't fly WBC. In my experience, I don't see any difference with this tag or not regarding bags. In fact, more than 80% of time, my bags came out late when most of other passengers already got their bags. I have never been happy about that:-) In few occasions, especially domestic flights, my bags almost came out last.

My theory is:

When connecting flight is made, the earlier arrival flights transfer bags first. So if you have a very short layover, your bags will be uploaded last, presumably near the cargo door and get out FIRST!

The good thing is, NW has never delayed or lost my bag even though I fly exclusively with NW for more than a decade. That is pretty impressive. As a comparison, I was only on CO once (BOS-EWR-NRT) and my bag got lost in EWR. It eventually arrived few days later. I complained because my Business/First ticket costs more than $7,000 and got a $250 TCV from CO Customer Relations. Still, I wonder if CO's bag handling is really bad or not?
