Both of us would like to see Paris, but my wife really wants to go to Italy and it doesn't seem to matter where but I think we'd prefer Rome. I would also like to see Prague and I guess that is the heart of the question. What are your opinions on doing these three cites in 12 days (we actually have 14 but I'm not counting the travel days on each end)?
Or, Should we try to do Prauge another time, and concentrate on Paris and Italy? I know we could spend 2 or more weeks in each place alone and not see it all, but would say 5 in Paris, 5 in Rome, and 2 in Prague be ok for a first trip?
Related to this, what is your opinion on the best way to travel between these cites, overnight train in a sleeper or low cost airline?
Thanks in advance!
That's a lot of time coming and going from airports, since my recommendation is to use low cost airlines. Remember, that open jaw trips are easier to get in Europe compared to here in the States. Luggage allowances for low cost airlines could be a surprise to you also, so check in advance.
I would skip Prague, and concentrate on Paris and Italy. You might want to throw in London instead, and use the Eurostar from Paris, and get low cost flights from London to Italy.
Trains in Italy are very good, so consider a 1˝hr ride to Florence from Rome for a day or 2. If you both just want to
see Paris, but she really wants Italy, I suggest only 3 full days in Paris, and give yourself more time in Italy.
