Personally, I upgrade for the seat comfort, not the food (when did airline food start to be considered a bonus?). How about the next time we're on the same flight and you're ahead of me on the upgrade list, I'll take the seat and send the meal back to you?
If you read my post, you would see that it is BOTH. I want a seat and a meal. As I said, I won't upgrade or pay for C/F on the EU airlines where there is a nice meal but a Y seat. Thus, your suggestion will not work for me.
