They nickel and dime all they want, as long as they don't institute change fees. One of the reasons I fly them is my schedule changes so much I can change my WN ticket and know i won't get hosed. I usually buy the refundable fare for this reason and if that goes away, my status on DL and others becomes more valuable because at the last minute I can still board first.
