Let me see. You were served your drink, snack, meal or whatever was catered on the flight. The F/A cleaned it up, and checked on you. After everyone was taken care of they sat down in an empty row and read their magazine. They sat there for 1/3 of the flight, but did their duties during descent and landing. Did I miss something?

Was there a time a passenger rang the call button and the F/A did not respond? Was there a situation that the F/A did not handle? Was their service during the service phase of the flight inferior?

If the three above questions can be answered with a NO than it appears that we just "expect" to be attended to during an entire flight. Which would result in the complaint being "I wasn't attended to as someone sitting in F should be attended to." If any of the questions above could be answered with a yes, than I think the F/A failled to perform there duties.

I guess my question is, if they are going to sit down when nothing is happening (which happens quite often on longer flights) than does it really matter if they are sitting in A1, D4 or the Galley or the jump seat.

If you needed something and pressed the call button and the F/A did not respond because they were reading that is one thing. If you and no one else needed anything, they had fullfilled there "duties" and all was well, than that is another thing entirely. I don't know where we draw the line, but it seems a little blurry.

It is nice to be "looked after" and asked if we need anything, but it is not really necessary to do it every 5, 10 or 15 minutes.
