Absolutely agree. But clearly not enough customers are willing to pay a premium for what is "good" for them. Clearly it does not make business sense for UAL to have shiny new airplanes if it increases their costs and helps drive them to bankruptcy in a downturn. And clearly it does not seem right for someone with a handle '///UNITED' to come to the NWA forum and bash NWA for flying older aircraft without realizing or acknowledging that this is one of the reasons that NWA is likely to stay around longer to serve its frequent flyer customers than United is.
