The last Z award I got was HKG-LAX connecting to AA from LAX-JFK on 3/20/07. The CX flight was 884.
This ticket was initially booked a J(U) award for the direct HKG-JFK (CX888). CX released an F seat (LAX-HKG) to AA on 3/19 (the day prior to my flight). Yet, F award for that flight had been available for 2 weeks for asiamiles redemption.
So far there is no such luck for the return flight back to asia. I posted the following in another thread just right before this thread was started.
I have been tracking the CX vs AA award availability for 6 weeks now (JFK/LAX/SFO-HKG). Over this time, there appears to be F(Z) award seats using Asiamiles (which I sadly do not possess), but nothing for AA F(Z) award!!!
I have also been cross-referencing with EF. Again, even when there are plenty of F seats (both via flight avail tool and seat map tool), CX just won't release them to AA, while asiamiles awards are available.
The days I am shooting for are Mon/Tues where the load is light with plenty of F/J/Y seats left for sales.
