I always first print to a PDF file. If I have luggage to check, I just get the BP at check in. If no luggage, then hard print at last minute, or if no printer, "I lost it!"
You do not lose the 24 hour advantage either way.
I print it to a pdf file, too, and then use efax to fax it to myself at the front desk of whatever hotel I'm staying at. Works like a charm and the faxed copy has always been accepted.
