The absence of an upgrade is not at all surprising. As I think I mentioned yesterday, wait until flight time - if you are a Plat and the route isn't a heavily traveled one for CO Elites, you have a good chance of scoring the U/G. My wife is NW Gold, and she has been flying CO all this year so far, and her u/g rate is almost 100% on CO. Most of her u/g's come at the gate.
One last thing: don't forget to ask if F
boarded full, instead of
checked in full. Typically the GA will give you the rote answer - "yes, sir - first is full" - but that just means its BOOKED full. There are always misconnects and no-shows. My experience has been that if you are nice, and sort of treat the whole affair casually, the agents will usually look after you in the event an u/g comes thru.
