This past Sunday afternoon I arrived at IAH (Houston) and was waiting for my luggage... for some bizarre reason my flight was on the same carousel as flights from Amsterdam and San Salvador.

A very dorky DHS agent (I could easily picture him wearing an anorak and writing down the numbers of trains in a well-worn notebook) arrived with an adorable little beagle. AnorakMan started pointing at people's bags and the dog would sniff. If he found something, he would sit down.

Thank goodness for that little doggie, because he saved the good ole USA from the terror that might have been unleashed had those two teenage girls been allowed to bring in the two apples that AnorakMan confiscated. The red one probably looked like it would have been OK, but the Granny Smith-looking one could have really brought havoc to the streets of our fair city.
