A little off the subject but was education for me.
Flights to HNL out of PVG on UA (from April 28-May 3) impossible due to heavy holiday traffic (Japanese Golden week & Chinese May holidays) through NRT or KIX. Or any other airline connecting out of Japan. I tried KE out of ICN and there were seats but on funny dates - Only seats on May 2 rt May 9.
Using Seat Counter, I could see that there were still economy seats from ICN to HNL available and told her that while looking at Seat counter but she said because the originating flight was from China, some of the booking fares were not allowed.
Has anyone else had this problem with restricted booking fares based on location of originating flight?

Just curious...
