The other options are good ideas---However this itin would require a ride in the back of the bus from SIN to BKK--- Only an hour and a half, but a little out of the way. I've done it several times the past 2 years on this routing, but before the change. SQ is truely the way to fly, IMO.
I asked a CSR once why after several (sometimes numerous) calls, awards are finally found, as she had done.
Her answer, "because they don't know how to turn the page (in the computer) and only look at what pops up first." It also apparently takes a little extra work to be aggressive finding a way to get from point A to point B, and it's easier, I guess to "just say no", and get you off the line.
I'll stick with ANA Awards, for my search, and do as you say and call. ^
Seat Counter isn't getting me any info for TG, and I hope that the ANA indicated available awards are for real.
