After many motnth of waiting Mid west miles finally wrote to tell me that they would not transfer Mid west miles my points to Hilton Honors...even though I have several car rental partner credits in addition to the 5k miles sign up bonus....Problem is that you needed to live in Il at the time of the promotion for the 5k points. I was living at a hotel for several months in IL and used that address. After trying to transfer the points and being told it will take about 2 weeks (3 different times over 5 months), I got an email telling me that the address I provided was a comercial address. I explained that it was a Holiday Inn and that I lived there at the time....

With out my permission thay contacted the Holiday Inn to see if I had ever lived there. As you can imagine the Hotel does not give out that kind of info to third parties. Mid west miles then emailed me that the Holiday Inn could not provide any proof of my stay.

Well mid west saved their company 10 bucks worth of points, pissed me off and lost another customer... J Edgar Hoover would be proud of their privacy invading sleuthing..
