Nor will you need to take your suitcases from the hotel to Tokyo Station. That could save you a taxi fare, making the hotel storage + takkyubin option more attractive from a total cost point of view.
Also - I'd recommend changing from Shinkansen to N'EX at Shinagawa station. You will need to check the timetables since not all Shinkansen stop at Shinagawa and there are fewer N'EX departures per hour from Shinagawa - but it's a shorter, less crowded walk from Shinkansen to N'EX at Shinagawa than it is at Tokyo.
