We haven't missed 50% of our flights; and if the above was accurate, I'd have missed more than several departing flights from DEL in the past 15 months since I've done quite the number of evening flights from DEL where I only arrived to the airport 90 minutes before departure. (I've missed none of those.) Even my c. 75 minutes before scheduled departure arrival at the airport go fine, as I only have carry-on luggage most times.

It really depends on if you know what you are doing. (That includes factoring in drive time to the airport.)
