If you want to upgrade, get on the waitlist NOW.

Priority then goes to who got on the waitlist first (at 90 days prior) and by status.

Your opportunities for choosing J seats through this process are limited - just be grateful if you do get the upgrade. As for WHY seats, the wing exit rows are always the preferable ones (but can get cold).
