Just arrived at The Swamp and made enquiries of the TG staff. There is no free shuttle bus. The options are taxi, limo or public bus. So it seems we're paying for the privillege of being inconvenienced. No-one seemed to know anything about any discounts either.

In the event I've decided to wait here for a flight to CNX rather than go to Don Muang. On the positive side, I would certainly say that The Swamp is noticeably quieter - I'm writing this from the TG domestic lounge in Pier A, and there is a total of four people in here.

I also see that The Nation is reporting that TG is introducing a revised domestic timetable from May. Let's hope they take the opportunity to clear up some of the mess they've created.
