I forgot to mention that there is a new hotel (I think it is simply called Hotel Chiado) next to Fnac and the Baixa-Chiado metro (a short walk from Bairro Alto). The bar on the roof of the hotel has really good views of the whole city.
The hotel Bairro Alto (in the area of the same name) is really nice and does good package rates including massage et cetera. It has a good restaurant, nice roof terrace bar and is close to the bars and clubs and shopping. Alos good restaurant right next door called Brasserie Entrecote (which only serves entrecotes but they're very nice

Lisbon really is a great city. Just got back last weekend and really enjoyed it.
