My eyes must be funny - I thought the thread title said "oddest," not "oldest."

You missed a few I flew - Western, National, Eastern, Trans Texas, Republic, Hughes Air West, PSA, AirCal and a number of others... "ALA" was old and odd, meaning "wing" in Castilian Spanish - Aerolíneas Latino-Americanas; didn't last out the '40's.
