I wouldn't call this a general whine situation. You happened to get the tickets you wanted. It would be whining if I needed a certain date and that happened to be the date that was not available. To not have saver availability for an <B>entire month</b> on a common route is completely unacceptable to me. I understand that award seats may not be available all the time and there are capacity controls, but to block out every flight for an entire month seems rather harsh to me. I'm surprised that such frequent flyers would find this acceptable.
Note: use
"square bracket B" for bold then "/ square bracket B" to undo bold. I do find it acceptable because I won't fly coach anywhere ORD-SEA included , though I bet it is so cheap that using miles is a waste. I have never failed to get an award once in 6 years.
