The good people at Siberian Airlines figured out a few years ago that the rest of the world does not hold the same sentimental attachment to the word "Siberia" as the locals. The hired a British PR firm to rebrand them and they came up with the less favorable name "S7" which is their IATA code. That is now their name. I just don't get it. Most others I speak with (Russians and non Russians) feel the same way.
