One more thought ... US flies from PHL to LGW.
PHL is a fairly painless Amtrak ride from NYC connecting to PHL by train or taxi, so if you don't want to do the IAD or ORD hop (and I don't entirely blame you), that's yet another option. Envoy Class should be a business class reward ticket and the seat and service is somewhat better than UA's C.
