That's what I thought, but I had a checked bag the last time I volunteered (three years ago). I asked if they were going to have to off-load my bag and the GA said no, it will be in YOW when you arrive. And so it was.

On the subject of security oddities, there was a guy with a video camera in a bag who appeared to be filming the luggage belt (or the people standing around it) when I flew into YHZ on Monday. I mentioned it to the RCMP, who took notes and said thanks very much; who knows what happened after that.
