If your TA uses a GDS other than Amadeus, the ticket number doesn't show up. My US TA uses Worldspan and I have the same issue of not seeing the ticket number. I also have problems to checkin online as the FOID is not correctly transmitted from Worldspan into LH's system.
As LH uses Amadeus for award tickets, the ticket number should show up the moment the ticket is issued.
