BOS-SIN (with stops)-SFO-ICN-SFO-BOS.
Essentially, I am buying two tickets: BOS-SIN and SFO-ICN. I am considering this as SIN-ICN fares on SQ or other airlines are pricing out to be around 933 USD whereas SFO-ICN-SFO is pricing out to be 750 USD (with F+ certificate and books into W for SWU upgrade).
Lots of flying.... This will get me to 84K EQM by middle of April. By doing this, I lose about half day in Korea to spend time with the family.
As for SWU useage question, I tried booking all of this in one PNR. Unfortunately, the price is about 800 USD more expensive for doing this. However, if I can use one SWU on SIN-SFO-ICN (as the layover in SFO will be less than 4 hours), it may be worth spending that extra $. So, can I use 1 SWU if reserved in one PNR? Or can an agent check me all the way to ICN from SIN and just use one SWU for itineararies booked in two different PNR on the day of the flight?
Tell me if I am crazy...by doing this.
You are crazy.
But in theory the SWU should work, but I wouldn't put it past UA to invent an MPM-for-a-single-SWU [like their "exceeds MPM" excuse for blacking out certain partner awards.]
