This sounds very clearly like the TSA's fault here. What do you expect NWA to do, buy you a new bag costing X hundred dollars? I agree this stinks but quit blaming them, it's not their fault. You can make silver elite with one round trip from Asia to the US east coast and if you're careful you can buy that ticket for less than a thousand dollars. All that and you expect NWA to treat you like some kind of royalty.

Go ahead, switch to another airline. I've had screwups on every airline I've flown around the world for 300,000 miles. Take only nonstop flights? The TSA will still check your bag when you fly home.

NWA is neither the best nor the worst but your gripe here is just plain silly.
