Not specially. I do not know of any Frequent flyer programme that does not operate in the same way, viz wipe out your status miles at the end of the reference period. The only exception I can think of is those rare ones that let you carry over some of your status miles when you are well over the maximum required for top tier (such as AF/KL FB).
