It's probably designed so you do not use more power... Can't watch TV from the desk, so leave it off...
2. Please put an outlet somewhere but behind the armoire or under the bed so we don't have to move furniture merely to iron a shirt.
If it is inconvenient to plug in the iron, you won't use it. Again, the hotel would save on power as well as generate more revenue if you use the hotel's laundry and pressing services....
