Even if they didn't have the photocopies, most, if not all of that information is on the paperwork, so it's sort of a moot point.

If it's necessary for them to do their business, to prove who you are, so show you had the card, etc, then there probably isn't much you can do about it. The problem would come if they were not taking the proper precautions to protect that data.

If the clerk wanted those numbers, they wouldn't need the photocopies, just the stack of contract copies would probably do it.
