I was going to put off updating to 10.4.9 simply because there is nothing critical in it but decided to go ahead with it.

Just a side note, I did repair permissions immediately before the upgrade and after and still had problems. Talking to people at the Apple Store, the problems with 10.4.9 are random and they think it has something to do with applications that are installed.

I did not post this to be taught how to upgrade, just wanted to give people a heads up about known issues with this update. Like I said, just peruse the Apple Discussions about this update and you will see what I mean.
