Virtual Machine Software
Microsoft has Virtual PC 2007 available for free, and VMWare has a free version, don't know the specific product name.

I'm going to put one or the other on my laptop (2gb RAM, Core2Duo) for testing applications and running alternate operating systems.

Does anyone know which has a lower overhead on the host operating system, or better general performance?

Any other comments on the relative merits of one or the other would be welcome.
