Another issue relevant to some flyers is which routes received more, and which had fewer, upgrades, awards, etc. How many awards were sAAver, how many were AAnytime? IMO, the figures AA present in this instance are mere self-promoting puffery and not useful - YMMV, of course. (I do think AAdvantage is better than many others, in terms of awards and other perks availability.)
(E.g. I can say I have booked awards to GUM on CO quite easily - but that statement would be more illustrative if I revealed those award seats were between NRT and GUM, not from ConUS via HNL, where they seem much rarer.)
