I might be off on my facts, but from what I am seeing here, these three options are accurate:
1) The best "magazines for miles" offer out there for a year print subscription is 3800 miles. If so, valuing miles at 2 cents each, it would cost $76/year... very good deal indeed. (If you value your miles less than that, you could reason that it is costing less, but most of us are able to milk 2 cents or more in value out of our miles by various means.)
2) You can buy a year print subscription AND online subscription PLUS 4 extra weeks for $99 directly from their site. If you use a credit card to buy this, you can get an effective price of $97 or so, accounting for the value of the miles you earn from your card company. (See
https://services.wsj.com/Gryphon/jsp...jsp?page=11222 )
3) You may also buy a year print subscription PLUS 2 extra weeks for $79, or about $77 after valuing miles you could earn by using your credit card.
Comparing these three options, I see $77 for 54 print weeks (option 3) and $97 for 56 print weeks and one year online (option 2) as better deals than $76 for 52 weeks (option 1). Am I nuts, or am I missing something here?
