Wow - I must be in the minority. I personally think this is goofy as all get out! Reminds me of what NWA does with their elites which I thought was goofy the first time I saw it (they've had it for awhile). I don't feel the need to have some carpet to stand on or announce that I'm a 1K. They do pre-boarding and in each airport I travel through (SEA, ORD, SFO, IAD) they're rather vigilant about who gets on the plane when.

I guess I would have preferred that they spent the money (carpets, set up, cleaning) on providing some Diet Coke or more on-board amenities
