Don't count on this. They may send you to ORD if flights are not cancelled yet, and then you have to sort it out from there. Is it really that bad to arrive home at midnight even though the earlier arrival has:
- 3 connecting airports instead of 2;
- Connecting at ORD/IAD instead of not connecting a second time in the US at all;
- Part of the flight on UA domestic "F" instead of LH new C;
- Possibility of part of the flight being on LH old C instead of new C;
- Connecting at MUC instead of FRA;
Have you considered flying OGG-SFO-MUC-KBP - seems to be a nicer connection on the way back. OGG-DEN-MUC-KBP seems to be a possibility as well.
